In recent years R&D Studio have been commissioned to make moving image work for public display on large-scale digital screens.

We have created a bespoke methodology combined with our own distinct aesthetics to create layered works that audiences can revisit time and again.

Commissions include the waiting room at the Tessa Jowell Health Centre in London, the Great Eastern Hotel on Liverpool Street and the National Gallery on Trafalgar Square.

The work is usually made with a participatory process, working with community groups or other stakeholders to inform the creative process.

The final results are complex collages combining live action filming with animation and other augmentations to produce works that rather like large paintings can be viewed from far away but also up close.
